Basic USMLE Exam Eligibility Requirement
- Age: You must be at least 18 years old to apply for the
USMLE exam.
- Education: You must be a student or graduate of a medical
school that is listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools.
- Medical School requirements: Your medical school must be
accredited by a recognized accrediting agency.
- ECFMG certification: If you are a graduate of a medical
school outside the United States or Canada, you must obtain certification
from the Educational Commission from Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).
- Visa Requirement.
- You must have passed step1, step2 and step 3.
- You must have completed a minimum of 12 months of postgraduate
training (residency) in the United States or Canada.
